Though the museum may look complete from the road, the staff and volunteers of the museum are busy preparing for the opening by unpacking the collection, cataloguing and building exhibits.
The museum featured the "Treasures of the Pioneer Museum" exhibit for the summer of 2008. Treasures featured a brief look at the museum's history, a small exhibition of Pioneer and Native American artifacts, Pioneer Scrapbooks and the museum's founding artifact.
We are now closed for the winter, but we will be having events from time to time thru the winter months. Times and dates will be announced in the paper and by radio when possible. Information will also be available on this web site, so please check back!
The grand opening of the museum will occur in Spring of 2009.
The Museum of the American West, a private, not-for-profit, volunteer-run organization co-located with FCPM, will have its Pioneer Village open for tours, as well as hosting special events and more! More information is available on their website or by calling 335-8778.
We are also looking for enthusiastic, well-organized volunteers to help us with our cataloguing project. If you are interested in volunteering or donating to the museum, please contact us at info@fcpm.org.
